We Heart New York Fashion Week - September 2010

It never ceases to amaze me how quickly New York announces its Fashion Week, and how fast said event goes by. As soon as you go "yeahy! New York!" London is saying "it's our turn now, let us show you how it's done".

To give you a concentrated, fruity and preservative-free taste of the upcoming trends paraded in New York, I have chosen some favourites.

Victoria Beckham made her Spring/Summer 2011 collection, THE collection to proclaim her as fashion designer...for curvy women, surprisingly enough. Featured here two favoured looks: one as the main post picture, and the one just above this paragraph. Womanly dresses tight at the waist, cuts celebrating the female figure. Colours included purples, pale pinks and metallic tones.

Next up is Anna Sui, keeping her traditional boho queen title intact. Very chic and extremely pretty, a truly beautiful piece pictured below.

Ralph Lauren also injected a 70s boho feel with suede, tassels and a youthful flavour. For next spring, maxi dresses are still essentials for every occasion.

Zac Posen brought a lot of colour to the "runways" and his leggy models oozed playfulness in the show.

Shorts are worn with lighter coats to suit less daring personalities. Flowers, satin, lace... the key is in the mix.

Proenza Schouler presented a collection with elements of tie-dye, bright shades, oranges and reds, and flowing cuts. Very heterogeneous, celebrating knee-high skirts and dresses at calf-length.

And as far a celebrity spotting, everyone was there: Anna Wintour, Blake Lively, Kelly Osbourne and the lady everyone wanted to see, Sara Jessica Parker, pictured here next to the adorable Rachel Bilson at Diane von Furstenberg (picture via popsugar).
