My Favourite Shop in Nolita NY - OME

One of the greatest discoveries during my trip to New York was Nolita, a small area in Soho, Lower Manhattan, full of quirky fashion stores and nice little restaurants. If you happen to walk through this part of The City, you must visit OME, an atomic dose of colour and fashion boldness.

I noticed pretty much immediately how New Yorkers like grey, and how only the bravest fashionistas around Soho favour certain colourful designs. Contrary to what Sex and The City makes us believe, there are no Carrie Bradshaws running around. If you see yourself as a "one of a kind" fashionista, OME is surely worth checking out.

Maria, the charming shop owner, customises other labels' pieces by cleverly hand painting or attaching pretty appliques. She also has her own original creations on display, handmade hats, fascinators with glittery beads and seriously covetable belts.

Dresses are dreamy, truly romantic and full of colour. Accessories are fun and one of a kind.

Shall I show you what I bought at OME? The gorgeous purple dress pictured below is the first thing I picked up. It is terribly soft and comfortable, with a beaded applique on the top part and pockets to contribute to its easy feeling. The grey and golden shirt is an original piece, hand painted and again, very comfortable.

I adored the vibe in this little shop, the colours and fabrics, Maria's warm welcome and her fresh approach to fashion. I fell in love with Nolita and Elizabeth Street pretty fast, OME just added to the infatuation.
