The term Bardot means "high one" or "goddess", but was only popularised by hollywood siren Brigitte Bardot, and has since inspired the names of a ninties pop music group and the every fabulous trendy clothing brand Bardot.
Head to your local westfield and there will by no doubt be some essence of Bardot. Myer stocks pieces of the Bardot range and Bardot's own chain of stores is expanding to offer more girls a chance to be a goddess. Not to mention that they also have an online store. Earlier this week I got the chance to speak to Bardot marketing representative Sarah, and here is what she had to say (in reference to this season's line and her definition of "Bardot").1. What trends are inspiring Bardot this season?
The three main trends we are currently focusing on are: Animal instinct (animal prints and earthy, natural tones), Hot summer nights (metallics, brights and shimmer) and 70’s girl (flowing fabrics, pastel colours and light wash denim).
2. Is there a particular philosophy behind Bardot?
There’s no specific philosophy we just LOVE hot clothes and are passionate about fashion and getting the latest trends on our shop floor first.3. How are the pieces that we see in Bardot stores brought about?
We have an amazing team of designers and buyers who keep an eye on the latest trends and put a Bardot spin on them.
4. What is on the radar for Bardot this summer?
This summer we will be rocking denim cut offs, maxi dresses and swimwear from our latest range, topped off with a straw or floppy hat.
The Bardot girl loves to hang out with friends, go to the beach, hit all the best music festivals and of course shop!
5. Bardot is constantly growing; where do you see the brand heading?
We plan on opening several new ladies and junior stores over the course of next year as well as stocking our brand overseas – so in short: world domination!
