Have you finally taken in all the incredible Pre Fall 2011 designer collections yet? Did you see that Puritan Pattern trending? Yea.. Of course, you did! Nothing slips by you, does it! :)

Lately, I'm really enjoying the new ‘austerity-chic’ ruling fashion with hemlines plummeting and necklines soaring. I personally always hesitate to bare, especially on unruly Indian streets. I always find myself picking out sombre, conservative outfits that reveal very little skin but yet have a strong approach to glamour. Therefore, you can imagine my excitement at the whole fashion industry being on the same austerity led wavelength with maxi lengths and tons of layers and peter pan collars etc.

The key though, is to wear your ‘demure’ outfits with many contradictions - puritan nuances like lace with leather, solid tops in high necklines paired with graphic printed sheer skirts, light sheer bottoms with many layers on top work for me... the oufits are a tease but yet have so much beauty. Think minimal, very austere, strict but sensual and take a cue from fashion biggies such as Valentino, Lanvin, Celine and Givenchy this season to perfect your straight-laced street style.
