NYC Style Spot   +  Inspiration

The sweetest thing: you are what you eat

Every month the girls get together for our team meeting where we discuss upcoming shoots, article ideas, portfolio pieces, events we've been invited to and events we're hosting. The venue for our meetings, is usually a place other than our office or the studios we use for shoots, and as you could imagine from the company name "Fashion's Sweethart" the meetings are often over dessert. Our favourite spot to date is definately Max Brenner at Southbank, with mouth watering waffles, fondue and dark rich hot chocolate it's hard not to pause our meeting agenda to spend time speaking about how amazing our meals are. Though Max Brenner is a hard place to beat, the girls have had their fair share of dining experiences and have reviewed their favourites for you to check out, from Italian to Seafood to Asian.

Makeup artist Kathryn loves her Italian Cuisine, but like all the FS girls she can't but be drawn to the amazing tastes of sweet cupcakes.
The Rustic Olive
Italian Cusine
99 Redcliffe Parade, Redcliffe

The Rustic Olive is a great little Italian restaurant on the esplanade in Redcliffe with an amazing view of the bay. I went there for a lunch and had an absolutely wonderful time! The staff were very attentive and friendly. We ordered pizzas to share which I honesty couldn't fault, their ‘Marco Pollo’ pizza is definitely one to try! The restaurant is BYO and most of the mains are under the $20 mark which is great value for the excellent quality of food and service you receive. As you’d expect from an Italian restaurant they make an amazing coffee! Whenever I am in Redcliffe again I will be sure to visit and I suggest you do too!
MySweetopia
Cupcake Cafe
Shop 8, 180 Grey St, South Brisbane

With its adorable shop front and endless gorgeous cupcakes in a huge variety of flavours it is fast becoming one of Brisbane’s favourite places to satisfy that sweet-tooth! One of the things I most love about MySweetopia is their custom cakes and cupcakes which are perfect for any special occasion or just for a morning or afternoon tea indulgence! These divine cupcakes are also perfect as an edible and unique gift. Mysweetopia has become a must-visit destination for anyone with a sweet-tooth, next time you’re at South Bank I highly recommend you drop in!

Kassidy's favourite restaurant is at Market Square in Sunnybank.Pho Hien Yuong
Sunnybank Market Square

Being Asian it's no surprise that I'm always interested in eating out at Asian restaurants. When I go out with family and friends, thus restaurant has got to be the best place in Brisbane for pho. Which is a typical Vietnamese noodle soup served with rare beef and herbs. I love going to this little restaurant.

Cassie E isn't scared to treat herself to some seafood.Morgans Seafood Restaurant
Redcliffe

This is my favourite place to go for seafood because the food is always fresh and the service is always very friendly. They have an amazing lobster mornay that i would recommend to everyone to try and their seafood platters are mouth watering. Nothing beats their desert menu though with a extremely generous helping of waffles and icing being my favourite choice. Also after dinning there i like to go for a walk along the boardwalk next to the water to look at the yachts as it is a nice and quiet area that i simply enjoy.

There is also a teppanyaki room at the same location of this seafood restaurant. The chefs cook the meals you wish in front of you creating a great interactional experience. If you order the fried rice they make you catch your own food! They choose one person sitting around the table to stand next to them and cut up the eggs they have cooked their unique way which is very entertainging and fun, but make sure you’re not in line of the eggs or some cut up pieces will become part of your outfit. To then get your bowl of fried rice they make you catch it a number of ways proving to be a fun experience for everyone who goes.

One of Claire's favourites, for both sweet & savoury cuisine is 3 MonkeysThree Monkeys
Mollison street, West End
Hot Chocolate, Guacomole and Greek Salad anyone? Not necessarily all at once. I love the vibe to West End and this place just about sums up the tastes of the inner city suburb. Plus it's BYO so you can drink to your heart's content over garlic bread or nachos. Or for something more my style, you can catch up with a friend over a hot chocolate and a piece of lemon meringue. If that doesn't win you over, there's so much parking available so unlike other inner city restaurants you won't have to hold back on your order as parking is easy and free.
