NYC Style Spot + Indian Fashion Shopping
Unlike my other print obsession, this one is easy accesible as its close to home. Ikat is a specific type of South Asian fabric-making (very popular in the North-east of India) where warped threads are dyed before weaving to give a similar effect to die-dye in that the colors bleed on the fabric. The iconic shapes that make it Ikat though, along with the color-blending, are the diamonds that almost appear to be in motion. I spy DIY envelope clutches, wristbands, shirt dresses, pants and oxfords even.
