A trip to the races – or to your annual Melbourne Cup luncheon – calls for fun and fashionable makeup. Kathryn Rose, resident makeup artist of Fashion’s Sweethart will show you how.
For this tutorial Kathryn used two beautiful pigments by INAZ Cosmetics (Hera and Sea Bass). To begin with she cleansed and moisturised model Cassie’s face.Kathryn always begins with her model's eyes. To do this look, she first applied Too Faced’s ‘Shadow Insurance’ eye primer and applied a highlighter over Cassie's eyes and up to her brow.Next Kathryn took INAZ Cosmetics pigment “Hera” and applied that to her eye lid. To intensify this, she shaded in a medium grey purple into the outer corner of the eye.Next, Kathryn applied Prestige Cosmetics Total Intensity eyeliner in “Powerful Purple” across the lashline. For a softer line you can also blend this into the lash line with an angled brush. After cleaning up any eye shadow fallout with an oil-free makeup remover, Kathryn recommends using Simple’s eye makeup remover.
The products that followed were Models Prefer illuminating primer which gives the skin a youthful glow and Graftobian HD glamour crème foundation which gives great coverage and has proven results that it is durable, well into the night! To help set the foundation Kathryn used Australis’ “Ready Set Go” no colour loose powder. This great little powder won’t change the colour of your foundation. Kathryn have used this great little powder on a huge range of skin tones from deep African tones to the palest girls and believes it works a treat! She then defined Cassie's brows using Prestige Cosmetics brow defining kit.To add an extra pop of colour Kathryn took a small liner brush and dampened it with a touch of water- this will not only intensify the colour but will also ensure the colour goes where your brush does and nowhere else! Kathryn used the INAZ Cosmetics pigment in “Sea Bass” and applied it along the bottom lash line. Next she took her black waterproof mascara, Covergirl Lash Blast, and applied it to Cassies top and bottom lashes. Finally Cassie's lips get a slick of Revlon’s Color Burst lipstick in “Soft Nude”. The look was topped off with full false eyelashes.
