NYC Style Spot + Inspiration
Before the show we took advantage of the spectacular view to take outfit photos. I wore a 1950s polka dot "wiggle" dress purchased for $5 from the last Vintage Bazaar Flea Market at the Aragon Theater. It was paired with a late 1950s pillbox hat with a feather spray that I bought at an estate sale a while ago. To put my own spin on the look I wore a sculptural 1970s/80s necklace and a red suede t-strap heels from Urban Outfitters.
I'll be posting photos from the actual fashion show in a couple of days. If you're curious about Sarah's outfit, jump on over to her blog.A view of one of Chicago's most beloved landmarks, Anish Kapoor's "Cloud Gate"; the sculpture is affectionately known as "The Bean".When the sun goes down in Chicago I'm always reminded me of Batman's home, the fictional Gotham City. While "Gotham" traditionally refers to NYC, the newest Batman movies were actually filmed in Chicago and our skyscrapers with their black facades evoke what I imagine that imaginary city to look like.As we made our way to the train after the fashion show we passed the famous Chicago Theatre. Unfortunately the iconic "Chicago" neon sign was already shut off for the night but the facade was still lit up. Of course we had to take a few quick photos with the historic landmark built in 1921.
