An Unstoppable Duo: The Vintage Bazaar at The Renegade Craft Fair Chicago
tvb_rosevintage_thriftaholicIt's hard to believe that it's already autumn and that September is almost over. I'm still playing catch up with blogging photos of all the flea markets I attended this summer, this was the first year that there were three monthly markets in Chicago. Two weekends ago the last Vintage Bazaar of the season was held in conjunction with The Renegade Craft Fair as part of their 10 year celebration. Renegade is a diy/handmade/craft fair that started right here in Chicago and has since expanded to yearly shows worldwide. There were 400 craft vendors (!) spread over six blocks of Division Street in the Wicker Park neighborhood and 50 vintage vendors popped up alongside them in two parking lots.

There was an estimated 50,000 visitors over the course of the weekend, I mainly stuck to the vintage area as I quickly got overwhelmed by all the gorgeous letterpress cards, posters and handmade jewelry at Renegade. Unfortunately I didn't photograph the craft portion of the market but took photos of the TVB vendors.

The first photo of this post features my friend Samantha of Rose Vintage and I posing with her dog Otis in front of her camper trailer.schwinn_friendA vintage Schwinn bicycle spotted in Bombshell Shocked's booth.mg_heartsI was happy to see Linda of Morning Glory Collectibles back in the city selling, she had been roaming the Midwest peddling her array of vintage goods this summer. The next six photos are also from her booth.morningglory3morningglory2morningglory1mg_vintage_owl_bagmg_noddersmg_letterszzouzi_shirtMy friend Sarah of Zzouzi Vintage rocked cute outfits both days and as per usual her booth was bursting with colorful, fun clothing, accessories and housewares.zzouzi_strawberry_shirtStrawberry print pattern on a vintage shirt in Sarah's booth.zzouzi_puzzlesI was immediately drawn to a variety of vintage puzzles, postcards and photos that she debuted at TVB.zzouzi_photo_magzzouzi_postcardszzouzi_horse_jacketBoth men and women tried on this amazing horse print jacket before it found a forever home.zzouzi_thriftaholicPosing with Sarah, I'm wearing a 1940s dress and a 1960s hat.wood_pigWood pig shaped cutting board spotted in Cushion Chicago's booth.apricotvintagevintage_puzzlesvintage_portrait_paintingI believe the photo above and the one below was of The Savoy Flea's booth.brass_elephantsvintage_loafersvintage_change_pursesvintage_l_hankerchiefI'm always drawn to cursive "L" items as its my first initial.family_huntingduck_pantsModernist_necklaceSo tempted by this statement Modernist necklace.manlyvintage_lampsCeramic lamps and folk art fish seen in Manly Vintage's both.manlyvintage_fishembroidered_pillowhoundstoothvintagebutterfly_pinGiant rhinestone butterfly pin in Bunny's Trunk Show booth.arona_vintage_scrapbookA vintage scrapbook and a stack of vintage suitcases (topped with quirky books) in Arona's booth.arona_suitcasesapt528_mouseA sweet carved wooden mouse in Apt528's booth.anatomyvintage_pillowstelephone_cord_purseA vintage purse made with colorful telephone cords.80s_bootstvb_rebeccaIt's always great to see new faces at the flea markets, I was happy to meet Rebecca of Picture Day Vintage. She's a librarian and also co-owns a brick & mortar vintage shop in Madison, Wisconsin. She was wearing an adorable 1950s dress and the most amazing hat!rebecca_egyptian_dressI'm a huge fan of novelty print dresses so of course was drawn to this Egyptian print dress. Sadly it was too big for me.vintage_egyptian_dressClose up of the print.rebecca_tiesThere was a good amount of men's vintage for sale at TVB including these silk ties in Rebecca's booth.illinois_purseAn Illinois purse made its way back to Chicago.rainbowvintage_shoesDozens of shoes and a bullet bra for sale in Rainbow Vintage's booth.rainbowvintage_bullet_brarainbowvintage_braceletsStacks of fun bangles seen in Rainbow Vintage's booth.orange_juice_toyI bought this sweet Pop Art style wooden toy from Take 2 Vintage.hothouse1Another favorite and flea market staple is Hot House Market. I spent quite a bit of time in their booth as they had a good mix of Mid Century housewares, dainty cocktail hats and bold jewelry.independence_snowberry_hatA hat bedecked with what I've termed "snowberries". I especially liked her sunglasses.rose_vintage_samantha_2Of course I had to take a few photographs of Sam inside her adorable camper. She knows how to rock a braided updo and I was also a fan of how she paired the structured jacket with a floaty skirt.rose_vintage_samanthatvb_sam_dogOtis was the sweetest dog, he was so friendly with all the customers!
