On Friday the thirteenth, a very special day to me as I'm truly a black cat at heart, there were eyelash curlers and hollywood tape and a canvas or several, within the usual party space of Fortitude Valley, The Met. The nightclub infamous for the drunken shenanigans of young adults, both university students and apprentices, and those who just want to dance to travelling house djs... became a space for fashion and art enthusiasts alike.Art & Style is a brand new fashion and art exhibition brought to Brisbane by a selection of up and coming Brisbane artists, paint, drawing, photography and sewing, not to mention the talents of decks musicians too. Lexi Wittke, proud designer of Evelyn Curtis spent two months co-ordinating five designers, two hair stylists, two makeup artists, four designers, a dj and a selection of Brisbane's freshest models, to bring a fashion clad crowd her last show for 2013. What a night to finish off a year full of shows, three amazing collections and countless hours sewing, dressing models backstage at shows and liasing with customers who contact her directly for that special custom piece. Here's a snap shot of the evening and the fun we had, thanks to Offbeat Imaging. I am looking forward to seeing what Lexi comes up with in 2014!Makeup artist Joel Lachlan Richy backstage. Joel and fellow mua Alana Hart, along with hair stylists Lisa Sleep and Emma Louise Brown were the talented people behind the models looks for the evening. The delightful artist Stacey Maree shows off her beautiful drawings.
