Decorating an apartment is a serious task. I brought nothing with me from Chicago, so I've literally had to start from scratch. While a little intimidating, it's also pretty exciting--I can do absolutely anything I want! I went with a more rustic theme for my living room, but decided to go all out glam in my bedroom. I was really inspired by blogger Aimee Song's decor:But yeah...I don't quite have her budget (I don't even want to know how much her custom bed cost). I went for the luxe look by choosing feminine shapes and fabrics, like velvet and fur. Here's what I've got so far:
I got the bed from Urban Home (here), the pillows and mirrored side table from eBay (both seen here), and the ottoman from Urban Outfitters (here). I also just got a plus size dress form that I'm excited to use to hold necklaces, belts, etc. I'm loving everything so far, but I am worried it could get a little too hollywood movie set, so I plan to add a few non-glam items to balance things out a bit. I have a long way to go before the place is fully decorated, but I'll be sure to do a video tour when I'm done! I'd love any decor advice (or favorite store suggestions) you guys have.
