Spring Strolls & Smiles

It's true what they say about Melbourne.
If you want four seasons in one day, come visit.

Last Sunday definitely gave me an insight into the warm summer sunshine, and the sweltering heat that comes with that. The morning started off with a quick tram ride over to Richmond to try what has been dubbed by multiple publications as Melbourne's most authentic Paleo cafe, Patch for a tasty, healthy brunch delight. Breakfast salad with a handful of natures best, don't mind if I do.

Satisfied from a delicious brunch, Jarrod and I decided that we would walk back to St Kilda, but we'd do what true adventurers do and take our time, diving through the Royal Botanical Gardens (of which I had never been) and stopping off at some of my favourite places including the Shrine Of Remembrance and Albert Park lake.

What we didn't take into account was the hideous heat that was quickly encompassing the city, and soon realised that a cool beverage would be mandatory if we wanted to get home by foot, rather than ambulance. Keeping with our paleo patronage Nutrition Bar was the best option for a nice cool green juice, full of garden favourites and off we went. The gardens are absolutely spectacular and a waterfall, hidden amongst the trees, made for a nice place to cool down and hibernate from the suns rays for a while.Photographs by Jarrod Bateman
