Last Sunday Jarrod and I went out to the stunning gardens of Werribee Mansion to the So Frenchy, So Chic Festival. This is one of the things I absolutely love about living in Melbourne! The rather awesome events that go on in and around the city are the stellar opposite of far and few.
Bus to the venue from Southern Cross station. Tick!
Cheese hamper for two on arrival. Tick!
Picnic blanket. Tick!
Bare feet dancing. Tick!
French tunes. Tick!
Red wine. Tick!
Sunshine. Tick!
There was so much to see and do. Face painting, puppet shows, gelato bars, iced coffee and a feature wall available for guests to leave their thoughts about the tragedy at Charlie Hebo Head Quarters earlier in the week. Before attending the festival I was only really a listener of one of the acts The Do but we quickly fell in love with Emilie Simons as well, and her latest album has now been added to our collection. It was so great to be able to relax amongst so many people with a common interest, without the usual festival tantrums, steroid infused men and overwhelming smell of marijuana. This is just the perfect festival for me.Photos by Jarrod Bateman
