A Skeletor Romance
Givenchy Couture Fall 2010Riccardo Tisci turned out 10 very opulent but distilled looks this couture season. With Givenchy Fall 2010 Couture, he was thinking of  “a romantic way to see death”.  Aptly, a motif of vertebrae weaves through the collection, most sensually. The beauty of couture construction lies in the details I would imagine, with the man power and time that goes into creating by hand, the beautiful beading, elaborate embroidery, and complex construction. Tisci finishes with his signature touches - lace and fringe.

The human anatomy can be an endless source of inspiration for artists who spend many years studying it, idealizing human proportion, and the underlying universal artistic truths necessary for mastering it. This collection is an astute rendition of the backbone, it's versatility and sensuality in the human form. No, it isn't gothic, it's sublime!

I hope you guys don't mind the photoshop tricks! The pictures are my interpretation of Tisci's interpretation. ;)
