After watching "The Runaways" last night; a semi-biographical film about the rock'n'roll girl band "The Runaways" I have a new found respect for Joan Jett and Cheri Currie. These girls were the Lady Gaga and Katy Perry of their day; pushing away the ordinary and breaking the boundaries of the fashion that encompassed America, and indeed the world. Joan wore men's leather jackets and Cheri sported a feminine adaptation of a mullet, together forming a new "girl power" approach to fashion. Feminine Grunge was born. ♥
