Rocaille: Art, Not Jewellery
The designer behind Rocaille, Amanda He switched careers from the world of investment banking to jewellery design. Sounds so much like how I may end up post CA anyway so this is that much more inspiring to me. Amanda transforms once loved antique items such as lost ornate keys, mid century glamorous rhinestone brooches and Victorian sash buckles, into unique modern statement pieces. She sources her vintage pieces from private collections, bazaars, vintage stores and estate sales all over the world. The jewellery is whimsical, opulent and romantic..very 18th century Europe, characterized by elaborate curves and ornamentation. I love that the pieces are taken apart and resurrected in a more modern and more relevant interpretation for women today. Owning one of these is owning a piece of art. At a range of Rs.15,000 to 25,000, these seem well worth the money to me!
