The Diana Mini Freedom Debut
One Mini, Many Mini
Sigh.. The joys of film photography. The possibility of accidents, of something spontaneous.. Don't you miss the unpredictability?  Everything is so much more interesting in analogue. I love the suspense and surprises of working with film, there is magic in the process, something that is easily lost in the instant gratification of digital film.

Lomography India sent over this pretty lil' Diana Mini JIYU Freedom for F and I to experiment with here at home. The Diana Mini is a 35mm teeny version of the retro medium format Diana camera and this particular beauty here is inspired by Japanese culture with its charming all over floral print. She's kitsch, an eye-catcher and a conversation starter, believe me! My little toy plastic camera muse. Its so hard to go anywhere without her these days, especially since she fits so perfectly in my littlest handbag and looks oh so cute around my neck! ;)
If you're someone new to the world of Lomography, she's just the one for you. We've had her for 2 weeks exactly and we've been through 3 rolls of film already! :) She is easy to use, slightly temperamental, unpredictable, a bit expensive to process and totally amazing. We thought it would be fun to create a Diana Mini series on the blog at the end of every month, 'the month in 35 mm square format lomography pictures' type of thing :) See that I Heart Diana Mini Badge on the right? It will take you to all the pictures (and happy accidents) with the Diana over the months. Maybe we can have your submissions too, if you want to share some DianaMiniLove? Let us know you're in! :) And check back for photos from our first rolls in a few days when they're back from the dark room.
