The architecture there was absolutely amazing. Being one of Australia's oldest towns, and having lived in young Brisbane for many years prior to moving to Melbourne, I'm still not quite accustomed to seeing such gorgeous antique buildings. The Art Gallery we visited for instance has a magnificent staircase leading to multiple collection rooms housing pieces both new and old, indigenous and non-indigenous. I was also pleasantly surprised that there were contributions from artists studying at the Australian Catholic University (being a student alumni myself).
No adventure is complete without trying out the local cuisine, and what better way to do so than a delightful late brunch at The Lane cafe? Absolutely delicious and definitely worth more than the loose change pricing. Dress by Mika & Gala
