Princess Boutique

One of my favourite boutiques in Brisbane city is Princess Polly. I love popping in on my way to or from university of a weekday, and rarely leave the store without a new piece to add to my ever growing collection.

With stores opening up in Mackay, Townsville, Mooloolaba and Sydney, as well as a new website where you can have your own piece of Polly without leaving the house, it is only getting bigger and better for Mary Evans (the owner of Princess Polly). I spoke to Mary briefly recently about what to expect from Princess Polly this coming season. This is what she had to say;How does Princess Polly source the product that we see in the boutique?
“I’ve been doing this for years so I suppose over those years we’ve built up a labels list. It’s a combination of coming across new labels or labels coming across us. Mostly people find us because we have quite a strong exposure in the market place but I guess you just come across brands in magazines, but mainly people just contact us."

What should Princess Polly girls be preparing for this summer?
"I think there’s always a lot going on in a summer season especially with our sort of market we work with what’s happening overseas with spring summer, but we’re also working with what is happening overseas right now for winter. On a summer level we’re seeing lots of pastel colours, a 70s silhouette with all the swing dresses, flares and beautiful big flowers.”

Who does Princess Polly target?
“We work with an age group from eighteen to twenty eight. We work with quite a seventies girl, that likes something a little bit different so we’re a bit directional in our style.”
